- What is OAKA?
- OAKA is a design studio creating modular wooden objects from solid oak. Each piece is built on a shared grid system and designed to evolve as part of a long-term, growing collection.
- What are modular oak objects?
- Modular oak objects are wall-mounted holders and organizers crafted from solid oak that share a common 8 cm grid. Because the proportions match, any combination — knife, utensil, spice, soap — sits together as a coherent composition and can be expanded over time.
- What is Japandi storage?
- Japandi storage combines Japanese restraint with Scandinavian warmth: natural materials, visible organization, and quiet wall-mounted systems that keep daily objects accessible without cluttering the room. OAKA Pixel Series is built around this idea.
- What makes OAKA modular?
- Every OAKA object follows the same set of proportions. Pieces connect, combine and rearrange naturally, so a single object can grow into a quiet, considered composition over time.
- What wood does OAKA use?
- We work exclusively with solid, slow-growing oak. Each piece is hand-finished and treated with natural oil to preserve the grain and let the material age beautifully.
- Can I expand my collection over time?
- Yes. OAKA is designed to be collected slowly. New objects are added to the system gradually, so a single piece can become an arrangement that evolves with your home.
- Where are OAKA objects made?
- Every object is made in our studio in Dresden, Germany — Forststraße 12 — by hand, in small numbers.
